March 411: Campus Resource Highlight – Office of Religious and Spiritual Life

The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life (RSL) at TCU supports students’ pursuit of spiritual growth, faith development, and religious practice while fostering a campus atmosphere in which all members of the TCU community may fully express their beliefs, values, and traditions. Regardless of religious affiliation, our students have the opportunity to engage with RSL via any of the 30 plus student religious organizations on campus, local spiritual or faith communities, or a multitude of events and programs hosted by the office.

Chaplains are available to support students at any stage in their journey, regardless of your Horned Frog’s faith tradition. Support conversations and services are provided as students navigate difficulties in life like personal struggles, grief, and or a need for direction. Our amazing Chaplains are ordained or lay-ministers who are prepared to care for the spiritual needs of all Horned Frogs regardless of their faith, denomination, or lack thereof. If your Horned Frog is looking to connect with someone on campus for guidance, our Chaplains are eager to chat with them and guide conversations.

Each semester, RSL also hosts various Support Communities to assist in addressing the needs and challenges that some of our Horned Frogs may need. Among these Support Communities are Discernment & Direction, Community & Crafts, and a Grief Group that meet throughout the semester.

Horned Frogs looking to get involved with RSL can partake in the Religious Advisory Council to help TCU stay informed on all religious needs, including Holy days and rituals for our student populations. Additionally, if your Horned Frog has ever been curious to participate in an interfaith group and learn from others, RSL hosts a Know Your Neighbor Night to connect students across varying faiths 3 times per semester.

Regardless of where your student is in their faith and personal journey, we encourage all of our Horned Frogs to explore the various resources available to them via the office of Religious and Spiritual Life. Whether stopping by the office at Jarvis Hall, connecting with a student faith organization by the founder’s statue, or visiting the website to learn more, the office of Religious and Spiritual Life has something for every Horned Frog!
