Welcome to TCU,

You’re registered for orientation, and we look forward to seeing you this summer! Please verify the information below and review the details to prepare. All listed times are in the Central Time Zone.

You are registered for orientation:
  • Orientation Date (log into portal to confirm date)
  • Check-in takes place from 9:15 to 10:20 am.
  • Orientation will begin at 9:15 am on Day 1 and end at 4 pm on Day 2. Please allow a minimum of two hours between the event start and end times. Late arrivals and early dismissals will not be permitted, so please plan accordingly.
  • Log into your portal to confirm which guests are registered to attend orientation with you.
Helpful information:
  • Additional communication will be shared one month before your session.
  • If you haven’t registered family members/guests to attend orientation, log back into your portal and add them. We highly recommend bringing guests with you.
  • Setup your TCU email (newuser.tcu.edu) and check it often (mail.tcu.edu)
  • The orientation schedule is in the Guidebook app – download it today!
  • Students are required to stay overnight on campus between Day 1 and Day 2 of orientation. Please note that orientation does not provide housing the night before or after your session.
  • Do you need to change your session or reschedule? Log back into your portal and click ‘Reschedule Session’.

Helpful information:

  • Students are required to stay overnight on campus between Day 1 and Day 2 of orientation. Guests/family members can stay on campus overnight if they choose. You will be placed in a different hall than students. Orientation does not provide housing the night before or after a session.
  • Local hotel options for family members can be found on our website.
  • The orientation schedule can be found in the Guidebook app – download it today!
  • If your student needs to change their Orientation date, they can log into their MyTCU portal and see available sessions.
  • Lastly, encourage your student to attend Frog Camp! There are many dates available and it’s a transformative experience! Details at frogcamp.tcu.edu.

Get Ready for Your TCU Orientation Experience!

We’re excited to welcome you to TCU Orientation on [date]! With just a month to go, now is the perfect time to start preparing for your session. Orientation is a two-day experience; attendance at all sessions is required to be eligible for course registration.

Important Travel Note: Please do not plan to leave campus before 4:00 PM on Day 2. If you’re flying, book your departure from DFW after 6:00 PM or DAL (Love Field) after 6:30 PM to allow enough time for travel to the airport.

Bring your parents/family members!
We offer sessions specifically for your parents or family members that introduce them to TCU. While students and parent/family members have different itineraries, there are multiple times when you’ll see each other. Log in now to add or update any parents or family members who may join.Getting ready for orientation:
  • Set up your TCU email (newuser.tcu.edu) and check it often (mail.tcu.edu).
  • Review Your Health Requirements — Submit your vaccination records in the Student Health Portal at least 10 days before Orientation. This is a requirement before you can register for classes.
  • Complete the Pre-Orientation Modules — Do this 10 days before Orientation so you can register for classes. Access modules through your myTCU portal under “Admitted Students Task.”

Overnight Accommodations
 – You’ll stay on campus between Day 1 and Day 2. Sheets and towels are provided, but feel free to bring your own pillow and blanket for extra comfort.

Family & Guest Orientation
Orientation is a two-day program, and Parent & Family Orientation runs alongside the student experience. We’ll introduce you to TCU’s many resources, services, and academic programs. While your student will have a separate schedule, you’ll have opportunities to connect throughout the event.

Help your student stay on track by ensuring they:

  • Complete Pre-Orientation Modules — Students must complete their online modules before orientation. We recommend finishing them one week before their session.
  • Submit vaccination records in the Student Health Portal (healthcenter.tcu.edu/new). This is required before students can register for classes.

Orientation is Almost Here—Here’s What You Need to Know!


Hey there,

We’re a couple of weeks away from your TCU Orientation on [date], and we’re excited to welcome you to campus!

Check-In Details
Check-in occurs at the Brown-Lupton University Union (BLUU) between 9:15 AM – 10:20 AM.

  • Upon arrival, bring your luggage to the BLUU Auditorium to pick up your room key for overnight accommodations (this includes family members/guests staying on campus).
  • After dropping off your luggage, head to the 3rd floor of the BLUU to complete the check-in process.
  • Breakfast will not be provided on the first day of orientation; please ensure you eat before arriving.
  • Specialized Programs: If you are part of a specialized program, check your TCU email for an invitation to the Pre-Orientation Sessions, which will take place from 8:30 to 9:30 AM.
Getting to Campus
Whether driving or flying, visit our Planning Your Visit page for directions, parking info, and transportation options. Morning traffic can be heavy, so allow extra time if you’re driving!
Orientation Housing
All students will stay on campus in a first-year residence hall during Orientation.
  • Standard bedding (fitted sheet, top sheet), a small pillow, washrag, hand towel, and body towel are provided. You might want to bring your own pillow and a blanket for extra comfort.
  • Overnight accommodations are unavailable on campus the night before or after Orientation unless you are registered for Frog Camp immediately following or leading into your session. You will receive specific communication regarding these options, if applicable.
What to Pack
  • Casual, comfortable clothing & walking shoes
  • Backpack with a pen, notebook, and any essentials
  • Refillable water bottle & snacks (while meals are provided, you may want extra snacks)
  • Rain gear (umbrella, raincoat, etc.)
  • Light jacket (rooms get chilly)
  • Toiletries (shampoo, deodorant, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.)
  • Extra blanket or pillow (if you prefer a heavier one)
  • Laptop or tablet for course registration on Day 2 (limited devices available on campus)
Tasks to achieve prior to orientation
  •  Submit Health Records – Upload records on the TCU Student Health Portal (healthcenter.tcu.edu/new) before arriving. This is required for course registration.
  • Complete Pre-Orientation Modules – Access them through your myTCU portal under “Admitted Students Task.”
  • Download Guidebook – Your go-to app for the Orientation schedule.

Important Information for Guests Attending Orientation & Staying On Campus


Hi there [Guest’s Name],

We are excited to welcome you to TCU for orientation! Please review the important details below to help you prepare for your visit.

Orientation Housing
Where You’ll Stay: If you’re staying on campus, you’ll be in a co-ed suite-style residence hall. For more details, visit King Wright Hall. The building will be co-ed by suite, and you’ll be sharing a room with another guest of the same gender.
Room Assignments: If your guest registration has changed (e.g., switching from a female guest to a male guest or vice versa), please contact our office so we can update your room assignment accordingly.
Couples & Roommates: If you registered with another guest, you will be placed together in the same suite. Couples will have a private suite.
Guest Amenities: We provide standard bedding (fitted sheet, flat sheet, and light blanket), a small pillow, and towels (washrag, hand towel, and body towel). If you desire added comfort, we recommend bringing your own pillow and an extra blanket, especially if you tend to get cold. Toiletries are not provided, make sure to pack items.
One-Night Stay Only: Housing is available only for the night of Day 1. We are unable to provide accommodations before or after Orientation.
Evening Activities & Dining
Dinner on Your Own:

We have a reception with snacks that concludes around 6:30pm on Day 1. Dinner is not provided for guests on Day 1, but you’ll find plenty of great local restaurants along University Drive. From casual bites to sit-down meals, there’s something for everyone!

Bingo Night Fun! Join us in the lobby of King Wright Hall around 8:00 PM for a fun Bingo Night with fellow guests—it’s a great way to relax and meet others!

Travel & Directions
Make your arrival stress-free by planning ahead. Visit our Planning your Visit page for directions, transportation options, and parking details.
What to pack:
  • Casual attire, bring your TCU purple!
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Backpack with pen/pencil and notebook
  • Refillable water bottle (water filling stations are available on campus)
  • Rain gear (umbrella, raincoat, etc.), for that surprise summer storm
  • Jacket (it gets chilly in some rooms)
  • Toiletries (shampoo, deodorant, soap, toothbrush/toothpaste, etc.)
  • Extra blanket (for added comfort)

Check-In
Check-in will take place between 9:15 AM and 10:20 AM at the Brown Lupton University Union (BLUU), 2901 Stadium Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76129. Use this address if you plan to use rideshare to campus.

Upon arrival, please bring your luggage to the BLUU Auditorium to collect your room key for overnight accommodations. After dropping off your luggage, head to the 3rd floor of the BLUU to complete the check-in process.

Breakfast is not provided on Day 1; we recommend students and families eat beforehand.
Is a parent or family member coming to Orientation?
You can still let us know which family members or parents will be attending Orientation. Login to your MyTCU Portal to add or update any parents/family member names and email addresses.

Arrival, Parking, and Check-In
Whether driving or using public transportation, follow these directions to campus. If driving, be mindful of morning traffic delays. Those driving, park in any section of the Frog Alley Parking Garage, located at 3417 W Cantey St, Fort Worth, TX 76109.

When & Where

Welcome to TCU,

You are registered for orientation, and we look forward to seeing you this summer! Please verify the information below and review the details to prepare. All listed times are in the Central Time Zone.

You are registered for orientation:

  • Orientation Session (Log into your portal to view your confirmed session)
  • Check-in takes place at Brown-Lupton University Union, 2901 Stadium Drive. Ft Worth, TX 76129-0001
  • Please allow a minimum of two hours between the event start and end times. Late arrivals and early dismissals will not be permitted, so please plan accordingly.
  • Please note that Orientation is a one-day session. The experience offers the same engaging content, activities, and opportunities for students to connect with the campus community, just condensed into a single day.
  • Please log into your portal to confirm which guests are registered to attend orientation with you.

Helpful information:

  • Additional communication will be shared one month prior to your session.
  • If you haven’t registered family members/guests to attend orientation, log back into your portal and add them. We highly recommend bringing guests with you.
  • Please note that orientation does not provide housing the night before or after your session. Lunch is provided for students and guests/family members.
  • Setup your TCU email (newuser.tcu.edu) and check it often (mail.tcu.edu)
  • The orientation schedule is in the Guidebook app. Download it today!

What to Expect
Orientation is a full-day experience designed to prepare you for life at TCU. Bring your parents/family members!
We offer sessions specifically for your parents or family members that introduce them to TCU. While students and parent/family members have different itineraries, there are multiple times when you’ll see each other. Log in now to add or update any parents or family members who may join.Getting ready for orientation:
  • Set up your TCU email (newuser.tcu.edu) and check it often (mail.tcu.edu).
  • Review Your Health Requirements — Submit your vaccination records in the Student Health Portal at least 10 days before Orientation. This is a requirement before you can register for classes.
  • Complete Pre-Orientation Modules—Transfer students who complete pre-orientation modules can meet with their advisor and register for courses beginning mid-May, before orientation. You can access modules through your myTCU portal under “Admitted Students Task.”
